Our One Year Anniversary of being in our Shop

I can’t quite believe that a year has gone by. We were so worried about making the rent in our first year.  Here we are, one year gone.  We just about did it.  We’ve loads of wonderful stock in the shop and no debt! Fifi has worked her socks off to produce the most amazing pieces of furniture. She writes about it here,    Fifi’s blog

It’s actually snowing here in the SW of the UK in Gloucestershire and we had to stay closed today.  It is very hilly in the Cotswold’s Hills!  Very icy today and dangerous.  So it’s a nice stay at home day, to make soup and light the fire.

Having a shop and being a retailer is a new experience for both Fifi and I, so it has been a steep learning curve.  You can read the back story here Our Back Story  We have had so much support from the local area, shop owners, traders, customers and suppliers.  We certainly hope that we can stay in Wotton-under-edge for years to come.

If you own an independent shop, I would love to hear how your first year went?  Did you stay the course?  Did you decide to quit?  What was the hardest thing for your to adjust to?  Please leave me a comment below,  I would love to hear from you.  Thank you Ginny
